Facebook Beacon is a new effort announced by Facebook to allow users to share their buying preferences. A few lines of javascript allows a website to post to facebook what items you purchased, games you played, movies you saw etc. Hell attach the three lines of code to your toilet so you can alert your emo friends when you drop a deuce.

Seriously, are we that vain of a country that we need to tell everyone in the world we bought a DVD. I don’t care who you are I don’t give a toss if you bought friends volume 1 on DVD on overstock.com. If you think everyone does, you’re an ass.

Child’s Play 2007 Starts

Just letting all my 3 readers know that Child’s Play 2007 has started. Child’s play is a charity created by Penny Arcade to give video games to children’s hospitals. Contributors can directly contribute by purchasing items on a local children’s hospital’s Amazon.com gift list. This way you can ensure that the children will get good games like “Beautiful Katamari” instead of “Cars” and other games they think they’ll like. They historically have a very low overhead so please contribute and give the kids who really need it video games (instead of buying yourself games just to get out of doing work by saying “well I really should beat halo 3 on Legendary before anything else”)

BBC Television recently interviewed Jimmy Carter about Dick Cheney. In it Carter calls Cheney “overly persuasive to George Bush” and “a disaster for our country”. Funny stuff… Well except for the fact it’s true. I guess that’s a bit scary. Here’s the video.

Wow halo 3 is good looking. So much better than the beta. Anyways its fun and addicting too. Attached please find sweet screenshot of Tony and I pwning some blue forces in a neutral bomb game. Destiny USA is a ridiculous concept of redefining Syracuse, NY. The currently named Salt City is trying to become known as the commercial capital of the north by building a gigantic shopping mall / random attractions. Here’s the problem No one wants to be here now. You need a curent attraction before you can bring people to a ridiculous shopping mall.

But here’s my beef with Destiny. Destiny has recently starting a ridiculous marketing campaign about how they’re going green by using recycled stel and having green parking spots. Whats the point! Shopping malls are nothing but a finely tuned machine for developing waste. Food waste, electrical waste, etc. Thats like driving your hummer across the street to the grocery to buy a pack of styrofoam cups but being environmentally conscious by using a canvas bag.

Its amazing how people waste talent. Milo Miles who is actually a pretty good reviewer was on NPR last night reviewing one of those things that should never be reviewed: Popeye the Sailor 1933 – 1938 DVD. I understand its on Fresh Air which is normally positve, but your making bad news look better when you give a review of a DVD compilation of Popeye airtime. Check out the NPR synopsis here. After your recent performance on The View it has become quite obvious you could use a few pointers. I’m sorry you are having such a tough time trying to figure out how to feed the kids. Unfortunately, the Bible didn’t explicitly explain that. As I’m sure this is the only piece of literature you have ever read, please lodge this flow chart ever so gently somewhere between Matthew and Mark. I hope it will come in useful next time you’re flipping through the pages trying to figure out how to do it. Best of luck!

That’s what they’ll be saying in a few years after Inida finishes dumping 20 tons of iron sulfate into the water. India in partnership with Germany, Italy and Chilie will begin dumping iron sulfate into the water to allow plankton to flourish. Looks good on paper but when you only look at the small picture you can miss a good amount of details. It could work awesome. Global warming solved. But I’m just a bit skeptical as dumping shit into our water has always seemed to have negative repercussions. In the mean time, go ahead pedal to metal with that Hemi. India has it under control.
